Stingray Powerboats Stingray 200MS Centre Console - Boat Test
Power Boating Canada Magazine
Stingray Boats is rapidly emerging as one of the leading independent boat builders
in North America.
For 2001, Stingray offers more than 20 models, with a proven reputation for quality
and performance.
Perhaps the biggest star in the lineup is the all-new 200MS. This centre-console
multi-purpose boat is a new approach is Stingray. Designed to capture attention in the
booming wakeboard/centre console/fishboat market, rumour has it that Stingray is going
to take the 200MS to greater heights by using it as a prototype model for Volvo's
all-new composite drive in 2001.
The mid-engine drive represents a new design concept in high efficient, low
maintenance powerboats. Powered by a fuel injected, fresh water-cooled, four-stroke
engine coupled with a new drive system, the 200MS offers the ride of an inboard with
the speed and efficiency of a sterndrive.
Fishermen will appreciate its walk-around deck, step-up bow-casting platform,
livewell and other fishing amenities. Not just for fishing, with the 200MS you can
enjoy many other water sports, depending on your preference. The mid-engine location
coupled with power trim allows for a wide range of wake adjustments while skiing or
wakeboarding.
An ergonomically designed centre console helm puts all controls and gauges at the
driver's fingertips.
A built-in bench seat with storage underneath is placed ahead of the console, while
the starboard side has slide-out tackle drawers.
Other standard features include an anchor locker, insulated ice chest, full
instrumentation plus engine hour meter, 12-volt accessory plug, compass, digital depth
finder and more.
But don't forget about the custom T-top or wakeboard arch. With these aboard, the
200MS could easily be the boat of choice for your family, not to mention the envy of
all your friends.
