Stingray's 180L Bowrider may be the company's smallest model, but it is big on performance and
amenities, making it popular among first-time boat owners as well as seasoned old salts. With
the use of sophisticated computer design and manufacturing equipment, engineers are able to make
the most out of every inch of this sporty 18-footer. Seating capacity is rated at seven people or
1,070 pounds.
The 180L is available in two seating configurations: X and S. The X model sports two adjustable
bucket seats forward with a full-width rear lounge and sunpad aft. The S version offers a driver's
bucket, an adjustable back-to-back lounge on the passenger's side and aft jump seats on either side
of the motor box. The adjustable jump seats offer the convenience of converting the aft section
into a full-width sunpad. Both models offer comfortable open bow seating.
An abundance of storage space is built into the 180L, including a large floor compartment with
an oversized door for easy access. The boat is also equipped with a 36-quart insulated icebox to
keep drinks cold and readily available.
While affordable, Stingray builds the 180L to last. It comes with a 5-year hull warranty and a
3-year blister protection. High quality marine-grade carpeting and 32-oz foam-backed vinyls are
used throughout.
Those concerned with preserving the environment will appreciate that Stingray goes the extra
mile by voluntarily using low VOC resins and gelcoats. They may cost more, but it's an investment
Stingray is willing to make. For the same reason, Stingray also chooses to use fuel-surge protectors
on all its boats, thereby keeping fuel in the tank.
Powering the 180L is a fuel-efficient 135 hp 3.0-liter engine that delivers an impressive top
speed of 50 miles per hour. Stingray offers a choice between Volvo Penta and MerCruiser. A
convenient remote oil changing system comes standard to simplify servicing.
The 180L is built on Stingray's patented Z-plane hull, which is designed to provide better prop
bite, agility, fuel efficiency and performance. All boats feature notched transoms for optimum
performance.
