Articles and Reviews
The June 2003 issue of Boating Life features a look back at six great value boats of 2003. The Stingray 220SX was one of the boats included. Here's what they had to say about the Stingray 220SX...

Of the fiberglass boats we tested for 2003, none was faster than the 220SX (65.1 mph with a MerCruiser 6.2 liter MPI). Which says a lot considering we categorized it as a weekender (a couple can sleep in the forward V-berth). And speaking even louder is the roughly $36,000 price, unheard of for a sexy performance boat replete with sleeping quarters, galley and head — a second home come tax time.

The sticker price didn't shock us because it's Stingray. The company doesn't spend a bundle on marketing and the management guys aren't the corporate types. They're hard-working South Carolinians. So though we thought the 220SX exuded a West Coast image, we know the value is from down home.

Read the complete 220SX article as featured in the January 2003 issue of Boating Life.

"However, that Z-plane hull allows the boat to cut through the water better than most of the pontoon boats and other deckboats out there on the water. That equates to both fuel efficiency and speed."
